Reflecting on the key milestones in our history over the last 25 years.
WE ARE SELECTRUCKS
From the first SelecTrucks Center we opened, to the flexible financing programs we launched, to the first out-of-the-box programs we created, our journey began with one goal in mind: supporting our customers.
We are SelecTrucks, and we are proud of the support that we have offered our customers for 25 years—and counting.
SELECTRUCKS LAUNCHED
We opened our first (and second!) Center in 1997. For the first time, customers could visit a SelecTrucks Center to receive support from our trusted advisors, who were—and continue to be—truly invested in the success of our customers.
BEGAN FINANCING OWNER-OPERATORS
SelecTrucks launched our first owner-operator financing program that catered to the specific needs of the owner-operator customer base. This program gave SelecTrucks Centers the ability to offer owner-operators a wide variety of down payment, interest rate, and term options through our preferred partner, Daimler Truck Financial. Nearly 25 years later, we continue to offer flexible financing solutions for our owner-operators.
INTRODUCED THE LEGACY TRUCK PROGRAM
The Legacy Truck Program was an innovative solution developed to remarket cab-over-engine models. By removing and remanufacturing the drivetrain to factory specs, then installing the remanufactured drivetrain in a brand-new steel day cab model, SelecTrucks was able to develop "Legacy" trucks that looked—and ran—like new, and were available for a fraction of the price of a new truck. This enabled us to offer a wide range of affordable inventory to our customers.
LAUNCHED RECONFIGURED DAY CAB PROGRAM
After the success of our first program remarketing reconfigured truck models, we made a few improvements, then launched our Reconfigured Day Cab Program in 2002. Named for the reconfiguration of 72” raised roof sleepers into day cabs, this program offered more customization options than ever before, allowing our customers to customize their day cabs by selecting from a series of specs.
BEGAN OFFERING FAIR MARKET VALUE LEASES
SelecTrucks introduced another flexible financing solution for customers: Fair Market Value Leases. Uncommon in the used truck industry, we saw a customer need and developed a solution to support them.
INTRODUCED SELECT LIMITED WARRANTY
The first of its kind, we developed the Select Limited Warranty to offer our customers more peace of mind than any previous warranty. SelecTrucks continues to offer our customers the industry’s best used truck warranty, backed by our OEMs: Freightliner Trucks and Western Star Trucks.
BEGAN OFFERING DOWN PAYMENT MATCH
SelecTrucks introduced our first down payment match program. Today, we continue to offer down payment match financing programs, as well as other promotions, to help our customers secure the vehicle that best fits their business needs.
INTRODUCED 60-DAY BUYER’S ASSURANCE
SelecTrucks increased our Buyer’s Assurance warranty offering from 30 days to 60 days. The added coverage length provided customers with even more protection during their first couple of months on the road in their newly purchased vehicle.
BEGAN OFFERING PROUD TO SERVE VETERANS DISCOUNT
As a thank you for the heroes who have defended the freedom of our nations, SelecTrucks began offering a heavy-duty discount for military veterans in the US and Canada. We continue to proudly support our veterans.
CELEBRATED 25 YEARS
A year of celebration and reflection for SelecTrucks, remembering key milestones and people who have made SelecTrucks what we are today. We are proud of the support that we continue to offer our customers across the 41 SelecTrucks Centers spanning the US and Canada. As we look to the future, we are excited for the opportunity to keep growing and offering innovative solutions that support our customers and help us keep the world moving.
